Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata meldete sich aktuell in einem neuen Schreibung am die Investoren und verdeutlicht einmal mehr, wie Nintendo in weiterer Zukunft vorgehen wird. Im Schreiben gibt Herr Iwata an, dass man auch in Zukunft auf eine Kombination aus eigener Hardware und Software setzen wird. Zusätzlich konzentriert man sich auf das Projekt „QoL“ (Quality of Life) und will damit in den kommenden 10 Jahren verstärkt auf Spiele setzen die dabei helfen die Gesundheit der Spieler zu verbessern. Die neue Ausrichtung soll das Geschäftsfeld des Unternehmens dabei aber nur erweitern und scheinbar abseits der klassischen Spielkonsolen existieren.

Was man sich von Nintendo’s „QoL“-Bestrebungen genau erwarten kann, ist derzeit noch recht unbekannt. Möglicherweise möchte man in Zukunft verstärkt auf Hardware wie den Wii Fit Meter setzen. Diese Geräte könnten anschließend auch ohne eine Verbindung mit einer Nintendo-Spielkonsole existieren.
