Mit Hyrule Warriors veröffentlicht arbeitet Tecmo Koei derzeit an einem recht ausgefallen Zelda Spin-Off das wir in dieser Form wohl noch nie auf einer Nintendo Konsole zu Gesicht bekommen haben. Hyrule Warriors bedient sich an bekannten Konzepten und Gameplay-Aspekten von Dynasty Warriors gemischt mit Nintendo’s Zelda Franchise. Im Gespräch mit der Famitsu gab der Producer Yosuke Hayashi nun an, dass Hyrue Warriors ein Teil von Aonumas Plans ist, Zelda in komplett neuen Fassetten zu präsentieren.

„The Legend of Zelda hat eine mittlerweile gut 27 Jahre lange Geschichte. Die Art und Weise wie man Zelda spielt ist somit recht bekannt.“

„Anfangs wollten wir etwas machen, dass der Art und Weise folgt, wie sich Zelda spielt. Dies ist aber etwas das man erleben kann, wenn man jedes andere Zelda spielt. Wir könnten natürlich ein Spiel basteln das sich oberflächlich wie Zelda anfühlt, aber wirklich umsetzen könnten wir das nicht. Am Schluss war uns klar, dass es besser ist, ein Warriors-Spiel mit Zelda zu machen.“

An dieser Stelle warf auch der Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma ein paar Worte ein.

„Ich wollte, dass Tecmo Koei ein Zelda Spiel produziert, dass ich so nicht machen könnte. Aus diesem Grund bat ich sie wie an ein Warrior’s Spiel an die Sache ranzugehen.“

Hyrule Warriors erscheint in Japan am 14. August, ein Release im Westen soll zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt über die Bühne gehen.

Story
