Media Create veröffentlichte auch im vergangenen Jahr einmal pro Woche neue Verkaufszahlen aus Japan. Mittlerweile ist das Jahr 2014 vorbei was natürlich der perfekte Anlass für eine kleine Zusammenfassung der Verkaufszahlen aus dem vergangenen Jahr ist. Die Wii U schaffte es im letzten Jahr in Japan auf 604.856 verkaufte Konsolen und kommt damit auf insgesamt 2.123.283 verkaufte Konsolen in Japan. Unter die Top 3 schafft es die Wii U mit diesem Ergebnis aber nicht.

Platz Nummer 1 geht wie erwartet an den Nintendo 3DS der sich gut 3.1 Millionen Mal im vergangenen Jahr verkaufen konnte. Insgesamt verkaufte Nintendo damit in Japan bislang 17.847.056 Handhelds.
